Drybrooks U15s girls fielded a very young side, due to many of their more experienced and older players unavailable to make the trip. They played some very good rugby and deserved a better score line for the grit and determination they showed. Hannah Roberts, Katie Jefferey and Leah Teague made some great tackles. Shauna Bennett and Lottie Fisher both worked hard around the pitch which hepled gel the young squad together.
After some great phases of play Shauna Bennett off loaded to Leah Teague to get a well deserved try for Drybrook.
Final result: Melksham 34 – Drybrook 5.
The u15s and u18s travelled to Melksham for their first games of the new year.
The Drybrook U18s girls game was a great match to watch with outstanding rugby being played by both teams. Melksham who were combined with Cleve for the day took the lead early on, through their centre. This was the wake up call Drybrook needed and started to play some very good attacking rugby, only to be stoped by some fine individual work by their center, who scored all Melkshams tries. Drybrook not to be outdone scored a fantastic try of their own. A switch and a dummy and some fine rucking saw Drybrooks Tyler Tucker go over to score a great team try, which was a joy to watch for the spectators. All girls are to be congratulated for their excellent attitudes and hard work throughout the game.
Final result: Melksham 27 – Drybrook 5
