Drybrook United reached the Forest Junior Final with this hard fought victory at Bream’s High Street Ground.
Bream have swept to glory in Gloucestershire Division 2 but came up against a determined Drybrook outfit in this game that fully deserved their victory.
Drybrook started really well and dominated the opening 20 minutes building up a useful 6pts – nil lead through 2 Andy Milner penalties.
Bream came back strongly and only resolute defence kept them out for a period and then a game changing incident occurred just before the break. Bream N0 8 and player coach Dave Emery, son of former Yorkley legend John, was shown yellow for a dangerous tackle which was changed to red after arguing with the referee.

Half Time
Bream 1st XV nil Drybrook United 6pts

Drybrook came out strongly in the second half and quickly increased their lead with a pushover try against Bream’s seven man pack with scrum half Mitch Baldwin getting the touch down.
Bream showed real character to hit back strongly and they began to dominate the second half with some aggressive forward driving and clever kicking that kept Drybrook on the back foot.
Two penalties in quick succession brought Bream right back into it and for a while they seemed capable of grasping victory but Drybrook hung on and at the end they were themselves pressing for another score.

The Drybrook forwards were particularly prominent in this match with Ben Warren, Joe Tingle, Joe James and Mitch Browning the stand out performers.
Drybrook United now go on to play the winners of Cinderford Stags and Newent 1st XV in the final.
