Happy Hooker!

An excellent victory for the men in green.

Drybrook R.F.C 22pts
Exmouth R.F.C. 8pts

Drybrook recorded a fine victory over their Devon rivals and won the game on the back of an excellent first half, where they only conceded two penalties in a very well-disciplined performance.
Exmouth, who started the day fifth in the league, after some very good performances of late, kicked off on a bright afternoon at the Manning’s.
Drybrook made their intentions clear taking the attack straight to the visitors with fine breaks from Joe Tingle and Kyle Frowen.
The abrasive Glen Nott was hitting the loose and ensuring the ball came back quickly for Corado Colombo to unleash the backs in some enterprising rugby that took the home team into their opponents twenty-two.
Drybrook continued to apply the pressure and after a quickly taken tap penalty it was Tingle who broke through for the opening try of the afternoon.
The scrum and lineout were going well, with the front row of Addis, Williams and Mckenna all enjoying excellent games.

.
Williams at hooker was enjoying his afternoon and made some telling breaks when the Exmouth lineout misfired and the ball came over the top into his hands.
The Exmouth team mainly used their eight and outside centre to launch their own offensives, but Drybrook always had the edge in the loose and turned over a number of balls, one resulting in a Treherne penalty to give Drybrook an eight points to nil lead.
Exmouth were able to pull three points back when Drybrook were caught offside, but their joy was short lived as happy hooker Callan Williams was on the back of a well driven lineout to crash over for a well deserved try, converted by Treherne.
There were no further scores in the half and Drybrook went in at the break leading fifteen points to three.
The second half had no sooner started when Drybrook added their third try of the game after nippy scrum-half Colombo darted in following good work from Mitch Bourne and Sam Peaper.
Treherne added the extras and it looked as
though Drybrook would go on to secure the bonus point but alas it was not to be.
The game became something of a stalemate with both defences on top.
Ben Large and Danny Price both took the ball forward but the attacks came to nothing and the visitors were able to clear their lines.
The only further score came on the stroke of full-time when Exmouth were able to squeeze in at the corner for a consolation try.
It was an excellent victory for the men in green who are on their travels to Weston Hornets next weekend in what is sure to be another tough battle.
