Drybrook R.F.C 25
Old Leamingtonians 7

Drybrook ladies played their last home game of the season against Old Leamingtonians, the overnight rain meant a late pitch change on to their other pitch which had less water than the other.
Playing up the slope Drybrook looked to impose themselves upon the game with a large percentage of territory but the slippery conditions and wrong options meant the score board was untouched. The visitors to their credit took the game to the home side and looked to move the ball through their centre but some big hits by the Drybrook back line stopped any attack becoming fruitful.
Half way through the first half the deadlock was broken when Drybrook number 8 Julie Ann NORBURY crashed over near to the corner ( conv missed ) from the restart the game continue in much the same way with the home side piling on

the pressure but the visitors defence held out time and time again until just before half time when centre Danielle JAMES crossed for the home sides second try (conv missed)

Half Time:
Drybrook 10pts

Old Leamingtonians 0pts

Playing down the slope and with the conditions still wet underfoot both sides looked to play an expansive game, eventually after a number of phases the ball was moved wide and full back Bethany POWELL crossed for the home sides third try ( conv missed ) 15-0. Drybrook then stepped up the pressure strong ball carries, the forwards totally dominating in the scrum and the backs still putting in the big hits to thwart any attack. Another series of carries close to the line eventually saw back row Mackenna BRACE cross for the try (conv missed).
Time was now ticking away and Drybrook emptied the bench getting fresh legs on to the .

field but the momentum continued and after another series of phases the ball went wide to left wing Clare POOLE to cross for the try ( conv missed).
Time was now nearly up and the visitors kept on coming when their back line scooped the ball up from a breakdown before going wide for their winger to beat the covering defenders and score under the posts which was converted, the referee blew his whistle to end the game.
Final score Drybrook 25-Old Leamingtonians 7

This was another great achievement for this squad of players with new faces making their debut, some people in a new position for the first time and the whole squad working hard for each other. The win secured at least 4th place which is massive credit to every player.

Thank you to all those who came to support once again.
