Defence a major factor in big win

Drybrook ladies travelled to Rugby Lionesses for the first ever fixture between the two teams.

From the first whistle Drybrook took the game to their hosts carrying the ball through the forwards and creating space for their backs to attack.
Resilient defence by Rugby was finally broken when Drybrook crossed for their first try (converted).
With a good solid platform created by Drybrook’s forwards their backs started to attack with good carries, constantly creating problems for the home sides defence.
Drybrook were camped near the try line and eventually the pressure paid off, crossing for their second try (converted).
From the restart Drybrook looked to press their advantage and a good break by the outside half and offload to their inside centre, saw them cross for another try (converted).

Rugby didn’t lie down and came back at Drybrook, and after a tap penalty close in, their number 8 crossed for a try (conversion missed).

The second half started and hit a period of stalemate with both sides having plenty of ball but knock ons and mistakes by both sides meant the scoreboard wasn’t troubled.
Once the mistakes had been ironed out the game returned to the physical affair of the first half.
Drybrook’s forwards caused lots of problems, making the home side defend for long periods and eventually it paid off, Drybrook scoring their first try of the second period (converted).
This try was quickly followed by another try for Drybrook (conversion missed) making the score 5pts to 33pts-

From the restart Rugby carried well but stout defence forced turnovers and with almost the last play Drybrook crossed for their last try (conversion missed).
