Brilliant start for new look ladies!

This was a great result considering Drybrook had 5 players playing in their first ever league game!

Cheered on by a large crowd, Drybrook Ladies started the new season with a home derby against Greyhound Ladies.
From the start it was clear that Greyhound were looking to get the ball wide to their fast wingers but Drybrook defensive pressure nullified the attack on many occasions forcing errors from Greyhound.
Drybrook forwards started to get the upper hand in both the scrummage and the loose, strong ball carrying by Drybrooks forwards continually caused problems and eventually Drybrook scored their first try.
This continued throughout the first half with Drybrook’s back line also getting in on the act breaking the gain line and causing issues for Greyhound who were penalised time and time

again for infringements. The momentum was with Drybrook with two further tries and a conversion before half time.

The second half continued in the same way Drybrooks strong running forwards causing Greyhound problems and the pressure paid of with Drybrook scoring their next try which was converted. Drybrook let up from the restart giving Greyhound a period of pressure only a crunching tackle by Drybrooks full back stopping a try.
Focus regained Drybrook stepped up the pressure scoring 3 more tries converting two.
