Sun Paint and Burst pipes

Players and Members were again called to arms on Saturday 22nd June for the RFU led initiative of Nat West Day. It has to be said that this was one of the most successful Nat West Day days held by Drybrook as an array of skilled technicians turned out to give back to the club a day of cleaning, painting and many jobs that get neglected over the course of a season.
Once again Coordinator Lucie Smith organised the day with primary focus on the gym , mini/junior changing rooms , toilets and bar area.
The gym was painted from top to bottom by Largey and his team .
There was cries on the horizon that Lord Lucan was spotted riding Shergar but in truth it was the Vets finally painting the min/junior changing rooms.
Both male and female toilets in the bar were given a lick of paint plus some new fixtures and fittings.
New lights were fitted in the bar and the ceiling in the function room was patched up …. again.
Kit rooms were tidied and a new water pipe was connected to the min/junior changing rooms.
But this wouldn’t be Drybrook without a catastrophe.
While Wattsy dug the new trench with Jelfer keeping a watchful eye they just happened to go through the existing pipe to create a new water fountain feature at the club. With no fittings and most DIY shops closed, Jake Hale from Hales of Drybrook came to the rescue opening his shop up so we could get the necessary fittings.
As the day came to an end and Mel had fed all the volunteers with burgers, and an evening of entertainment was enjoyed with OCD and guest vocalist Noah.
It was a truly great day and impossible to name everyone but thank you all for your efforts and time given to our great Club.
