Two Drybrook RFC u18s Girls have been selected to be part of the South West u18s rugby squad.
Kirsty Gwilliam 17, who plays number 8, and number 10 Leah Teague aged 16, were both selected for the south west squad after attending trials last weekend.
Over 80 girls from Gloucestershire, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall, Somerset, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire were put forward from their respective counties to trial.
Kirsty and Leah undertook a two hour skills and performance assessment, to be picked to be part of the south west squad.
For Drybrook to have 2 girls selected is a fantastic achievement and yet another success story for Drybrooks womens and girls rugby.
Head Coach Neil Morgan said; “Both Kirsty and Leah are very, very talented rugby players, they are strong and determined players, and they both have true dedication and commitment to rugby.
They so deserve to have been selected to represent the south west, and everyone at Drybrook is so pleased and proud of them.”
The girls will now attend weekend training camps and take part in games versus other divisional areas.
