Drybrook u18 Girls begin with Round-Robin
Drybrook u18s girls opened their season with a round robin against Worcester and Pencoed at the Mannings.
The first game against Worcester was a very closely fought game with Drybrook’s scrums and line outs second to none. Although Robyn Marsh scored a great try for the home team, Drybrook allowed a couple of Worcester interceptions to eventually give Worcester the win 17pts to 5pts
In the next game against Pencoed – Drybrook dug deep and showed great determination and true team spirit to secure a well deserved home win 10pts to 7pts. Both of Drybrooks tries were scored by Leah Teague.
Kirsty Gwilliam was awarded girl of the game for an outstanding afternoon of rugby for Drybrook.
The New girls, girls who have moved up to 18s and the ‘old 18s’ all really showed what they are made of today and stepped up to the mark in these first fixtures of the season.
This Sunday (25th September) the u18s face Winscombe at Drybrook – Ko 2pm – in the RFU National cup competition whilst the u15s girls team travel to Weston Hornets for their first national cup fixture.
Please come along and show your support on Sunday for the Womens and Girls games at Drybrook.
