Drybrook came out on top of this fiercely contested fixture which doubled up as a league game & first round of the junior combination cup.
The game was played in horrendous conditions with heavy rain & a strong wind throughout.
Drybrook kept to their game plan throughout the 1st half of keeping the ball tight using there pack & crash ball centre Simon Rugman to starve Cinderford of possession.
Mid way through the 1st half following several phases Kieran Auker-Howlett found a gap in the Cinderford defence to score with skipper Andy Milner knocking over the conversion.
The only other score of the half came from a penalty converted by Milner.
Shortly before half time a serious injury
occurred to Cinderford prop Ashley Macey resulting in play being stopped for well over half an hour.

The 2nd half kicked off with the wind now in Drybrooks favour, it wasn’t long until lots of pressure told & Simon Rugman crashed over for a try, Milner converting again.
Cinderford grew more as the second have went by putting Drybrook under pressure with a series of driving mauls, but the Drybrook defence managed to hold firm with some timely turnovers.
Cinderford did manage to get on the scoreboard following another driving maul, the ball got spread to the Cinderford fullback who managed
to wriggle over for a try.
Drybrooks man of the match went to Simon Rugman, but it could have gone to any member of the Drybrook pack that worked tirelessly throughout.
Next up for the 2nd team is their final league game away at Lydney on Saturday 2nd April.
The semi final of the cup sees them away at Bream United (date to be confirmed).
