Drybrook missed a lot of try scoring opportunities in this victory and given their dominance should have gone on to get a try scoring bonus point.
Playing against the wind in the first half Drybrook withstood some early home pressure before seizing control.
After nearly breaking through several times, the first try came after 20 minutes, when winger Mitch Baldwin squeezed in at the corner after play had been switched one way then the other.
Teignmouth then missed a long range penalty but kept pressing and only a timely turn over by prop Dean Large got Drybrook out of trouble.
Drybrook missed a good chance just after when hooker Luke Fisher had his pass intercepted as Teignmouth were reeling on their own line.
Drybrook were finally rewarded for their efforts when scrum half Jack Combes put centre Robbie Faulkner in the clear for a simple run in for a try.
With half time approaching Drybrook skipper Ben Large broke through for what looked a certain try only to be called back by the referee’s whistle as three home players lay injured on the ground.
A yellow card reduced the home side to 14 men and with all 3 replacements on they had to dig deep to keep Drybrook out.
Combes looked to have got over from a five metre scrum but was held up in the in goal area and just after Teignmouth were relieved to hear the half time whistle.

Drybrook started the second half very confidently and stretched the home defence to breaking point but Teignmouth just held out.
A speculative kick ahead by Drybrook landed deep in the home 22 metre area where their winger scored a spectacular try by running it back and carving a great angle to outwit the defence.
Suddenly Teignmouth had a chance but Drybrook weathered the storm before getting back on top.
Into the last 10 minutes Drybrook squandered more opportunities. Firstly replacement hooker Harry Collins failed to hang on to the slippery ball when put through by Jamie Cook,
Moments later winger Sam Peaper swept in at the corner only to see the ball knocked from his grasp in the process of touching down.
Mitch Baldwin was then bundled into the corner as Teignmouth refused to buckle with a magnificent rear guard action.
Deep in injury time Drybrook kicked to the corner in an effort to bundle over for a try but the home side survived again and Will Greenway ended up with a yellow card in an untidy end to the match.
For Drybrook skipper Ben Large was man of the match with another inspirational performance.

Drybrook’s Utd XV came out on top of this reserve league derby on a windy day at the Mannings. A sour note to the day was the loss of Drybrook fullback Luke Roberts with a broken leg. It was a double blow to Roberts who had been named in the County Under 20’s squad earlier in the week.
It was Roberts who got the scoring underway after a chip & chase in the opening minutes. The bounce of the ball proving fortuitous for him to get the try by the posts, with skipper Andy Milner knocking over the conversion.
Cinderford were next on the score board, through a penalty following a high tackle in the midfield.
Drybrook who were the more dominant side during the first period then butchered a try scoring opportunity, rather than going through the hands, a cross field kick was attempted but the ball bounced out giving Cinderford possession in their own 22.
Andy Milner then tried a penalty attempt only for his effort to rebound of the post.
With only a minute left of the half Drybrook took a tap penalty in the Cinderford 22, & after stretching the defence wide the overlap was created for Jack Freeman to score in the corner.

With the wind now in Cinderford’s favour Drybrook knew that they would come under a great deal of pressure.
With 10 minutes gone, Luke Roberts’ broken leg resulted in a pitch change to allow an ambulance onto the field to deal with the stricken player.
Cinderford kept pressure on Drybrook throughout the remaining 30 minutes.
With 5 minutes left, Cinderford scored a converted try in the corner, leaving a tense finale.
Drybrook held out to remain in second spot in the league.
