Drybrook Colts 25pts
Cheltenham Colts 12pts

Drybrook Colts scored four excellent tries to see off Cheltenham Colts in perfect conditions at the Mannings. The visitors arrived with only 14 men so Drybrook had to reduce their team accordingly and it was 15 minutes before they made the break through. Some excellent support play was rewarded when Kevin Otenyo broke through the gap for a try and Alex Iles converted to put Drybrook 7pts – nil ahead.
Moments later Otenyo seized on some quick Drybrook possession before racing in for his second try. This time he stretched his legs on a superb run from the half way line.
Cheltenham came back strongly and after an extended period of pressure crossed for a good try after sucking in the home defence.

Half Time:

Cheltenham Colts 5pts

Drybrook lost No 8 Josh Element to a yellow card early in the second half and had to soak up

a lot of Cheltenham pressure before they were able to hit back.
They finally got a foothold on the game and ran a very kickable penalty from in front of the visitor’s posts but got bundled into touch at the corner.
For a period possession then dried up for Drybrook but eventually they got back into it with the best try of the game. Some great approach work led to hooker Billy Bowdler getting stopped just short of the Cheltenham line. Quick recycling and some lovely handling from the Drybrook backs put Max Renouf-Watkins in at the corner.
Cheltenham responded in the best possible way with a try of their own after a maul on the Drybrook line.
It was anybody’s game to win but following a fractious period both sides had a player sent to the bin and it was Drybrook who kept their composure to secure victory

Just before the end stand off Alex Iles put centre Joe Watts through the gap for another good try and Isles landed the conversion for good measure.
