Hucclecote Old Boys “A” 0pts
Drybrook Extras 41pts

The Extras made it four wins on the trot in odd circumstances at Hucclecote where the home side started with only 12 men as some of their team refused to take to the pitch. Drybrook replacements Dan Rogers and Sam Smith had already been drafted in to play for the home side and with such a numerical advantage it came as no surprise that Jack Davis opened the try scoring with Jimmy Ryder adding a conversion.
A lovely move then saw Tony Hussey off load brilliantly to Colin Morgan who touched down in the corner.
Hucclecote eventually got 15 players on the field but by this time it was too late and the momentum remained with Drybrook which led to flanker Jordan Taylor-Bourne going over under the posts.
Ryder converted and a few minutes later he added the extras to Morgan’s second try which came when he broke free with a jinking run on his way to the line

Half Time:
Hucclecote 2nds nil
Drybrook Extras 26pts

Huccelcote had arguments in their own camp at half time and some players walked off the field. The referee was thinking of abandoning the game but after a chat with both captains it was decided to carry on. Drybrook loaned Ryan Dubberley to Hucclecote to even things up but it became one way traffic in the second half.
Skipper Tom Maskell was next to score when he found himself on the end of a cross field kick and then replacement Tom Treherne ran on to his own kick to score. Maskell then added a second try to add to Hucclecote’s misery.
With all the problems Hucclecote were having and the horrible weather, when it got to 60minutes, the captains and the referee talked and agreed to blow up early.
Man of the match for Drybrook was Colin Morgan who showed some excellent running ability and veteran Chris “Soapy” Rawlings also played well despite a three month layoff.
A talking point after the game was that manager Ben Steward must surely be in strong contention for the green army manager of the month.
