This match kicked off at 12 noon in front of a large and appreciative crowd who quickly showed their disapproval when Drybrook opted for a kick at goal from an early penalty award.
Despite the protests Chris Treherne slotted the kick to put his side in front but from then on it turned into a war of attrition between two sides hell bent on gaining a victory.
The tackling and covering was enthusiastic from both teams but neither side had a player capable

of breaking the gain line or with the pace to go the distance.
Both clubs rotated a large squad of players and at the break only three points separated the teams.
In the second period Drybrook brought on old favourite Dave Williams at prop and the tempo soon increased with Williams making a great break before off loading to winger Jason Roberts who scampered over for the game’s only try.
BerryHill tried everything to get back into it but they did not make themselves popular with referee Dan Slattery who marched them back 10 metres on several occasions.

In the end Drybrook held out to claim victory and now look forward to the return fixture with Hill’s John “Eggy” Evans sportingly volunteering to referee the game if Toucan Chandler fails to recover in time.
