6th July, 2013

Saturday’s Touch Rugby tournament and Fun Day was a tremendously succesful day for the club.
The day started with the Lions on the big screen and over 100 bacon rolls were sold as everyone enjoyed seeing the Australians get humiliated on their own turf.
Drybrook RFC is now officially recognised as an RFU/O2 Touch Centre for the Forest of Dean area, and the club were awarded a £500 grant from the RFU to put on a O2 Touch party on the day of the event.
A crowd of over 300 attended or took part on the day in record temperatures and baking sunshine, and there was even an unscheduled fly past by an RAF Douglas Dakota. moab-offroad.com

Last year’s champions “The Top Sluggers” ran out winners on the day (led by the clubs own Joe Tingle) beating the “Lads-amp;-Dads” team captained by Chris Treherne.

Fun carried on late into the evening with “The Band” stepping in at short notice to cover for “the Mad Hatters” who had to pull out at the last minute.

Special thanks to the following people who formed the works party that met on a number of occasions to arrange the day; Steve Williams, Marie Williams, Tori Treherne, Andy Milner, Carmen Edwards, Jenna Large.

Also thanks also to the following for their help on the day; Ang amp; Craig Moore, Kat Meek, Karen Large amp; Phil Large, Janet Jackson, Caroline Treherne, Chris White, Dave Payne, Gemma Holsgrove, Natalie Porter, Dave Auker-Howlett.

And finally a big thank you to our referees; Andy Taylor, Matt Johnson, Frazer McArdell.
