Cirencester 2nds 13pts Drybrook Extras 8pts – Saturday 13th April 2013

Drybrook Extras were just edged out of it in the last league match of the season at Cirencester. Drybrook started the stronger side and with 5 minutes gone were awarded a penalty in front of the Cirencester uprights after some good running rugby by Ben Warren. Andrew Milner adding the 3 points.
Cirencester’s ball handling in midfield constantly let them down but were awarded a kicking opportunity on 10mins but squandered the chance to level the game.
On 18 minutes Cirencester eventually put together a string of passes that ended in a try and conversion. Drybrook hit back with some good forward driving play that ended with Ben Warren scoring a well deserved try.
The 1st half play deteriorated due to poor weather conditions with both sides struggling to get a foot hold of the game.

The 2nd half started off in much the same vein with Cirencester missing two kickable penalty chances. With Cirencester starting to dictate most of the play, they were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which they kicked to go ahead.
Although some solid defence by Drybrook prevented Cirencester going over for a try Cirencester were again awarded an opportunity to extend their lead on 75 mins with them
adding a further 3 points from another penalty in front of the posts.
Although Drybrook pressured in the final few minutes they were unable to add to the score line.
Ben Warren and Connor Hale had good all round performances.
