The result may look impressive but this was no stroll in the park for Drybrook where only a solid second half showing came to their rescue.
Tom Treherne put Drybrook ahead with an early penalty but then League inexplicably missed the chance to draw level by fluffing a kick in front of the posts.
Drybrook seemed out of sorts in the first half and with 25 minutes gone they were reduced to 14 men when second row Neil Morgan was yellow carded.
League continued to have the better of things and after 30 minutes should have taken the lead. Drybrook dithered under an up and under and a League player was first to the ball and took it on the bounce to race clear for what should have been a simple try. Unfortunately he knocked on in the act of grounding the ball and from the resulting scrum Drybrook gratefully cleared.
With the half drawing to a close Treherne added a second penalty for Drybrook and then the home side sprung to life with the game’s first try.
A scintillating break from half way by Carl Moore was carried on by Ben Large and although he was brought down just short the ball was quickly recycled and skipper Simon Rugman powered over in the corner.

Drybrook were much sharper in the second half and with only five minutes gone League lost a player to the bin after pulling down the maul.
Carl Moore then darted over for a try down the blind side of a scrum and a few minutes later hooker Craig Clarke bundled over after more pressure on the League line and Treherne added the extras.
Prop Tom Reed was next to score when Gordon League were powerless to stop a catch and drive from a line out.
With 10 minutes remaining League had a man red carded for kicking and this allowed Drybrook to really get on top.
Carl Moore added his second try after a lot of pressure on the visitor’s line, converted by Teherne, and a few minutes later winger Sam Peaper crossed after constant probing by the Drybrook forwards.
Drybrook saved their best try for the last play of the game when they ran from deep and an all out attack led to Rugman diving over in the corner.

When original opponents Lydney United pulled out because they could not find a pitch to play on Drybrook were fortunate to rearrange this fixture at the Lakers.
A strong first half showing led to two tries from in form centre Connor Hale, both converted by skipper Andy Milner who also kicked a penalty.
All Drybrook could add after the break was another Milner penalty but it was enough to see them home and to keep his team at the top of the league.
