Ceri and Natasha in England Wins

DRYBROOK girls Ceri Large and Natasha Hunt both played their parts in a hugely successful weekend for English women’s rugby.
Ceri scored two tries as England began the defence of their Six Nations title with a resounding 76-0 defeat of Scotland at Esher RFC.
Ceri was one of the players in coach Gary Street’s thoughts when he said: “We had a lot of young, inexperienced players out there today but actually they were all leaders and they stood up.”
She has kept her place in the starting XV for this Saturday’s Six Nations clash against Ireland at Ashbourne RFC.
Hundreds of miles away in America, Natasha Hunt was helping England Women’s sevens team triumph in the World Series.
She scored the only try of the match in a 7-5 win over New Zealand in the pool stages.
Natasha also touched down in a 48-0 success against Trinidad & Tobago.
A 17-7 victory against the Netherlands meant England had to play the same opponents again in the quarter-finals. This time, England beat the Netherlands 19-14.
A 19-14 defeat of New Zealand followed in the semi-finals, before a 29-12 victory over the host USA nation in the Houston final.
