Drybrook came out on top in this eagerly awaited clash at title contenders Frampton Cotterell with their best display of the season so far.
Drybrook stunned the home team with their work rate and phenomenal defence and by the end of the game Frampton simply ran out of ideas as they could find no way through.
The pitch was very heavy underfoot and with the wind and slight slope in their favour Frampton applied the early pressure but it was obvious from the start that Drybrook were up for this one.
Drybrook weathered the early storm and then began to get on top with a series of pick and goes and some neat off loading in the tackle.
With 15 minutes gone Drybrook subjected the home line to a battering and following a catch and drive from a line out the ball was moved out to skipper Simon Rugman who crashed over near the posts and Tom Treherne added the conversion.
Drybrook continued to have the better of things and in Cottrell, Tingle and Jackson their dominance at the line out meant they were always on the front foot.
Relentless Drybrook pressure eventually brought a second try on 35 minutes when scrum half Carl Moore crossed after wriggling through a tiring defence.
Frampton hit back and Drybrook just managed to keep them out as the half time whistle blew.

Frampton knew they would have to start strongly in the second and they did just that but they came unstuck against Drybrook’s blanket defence.
A great Treherne box kick relieved the pressure for Drybrook and the visitors were then able to pen the home side in their own half. A penalty eventually arose and Treherne’s successful kick extended his team’s lead.
With 12 minutes gone prop Tom Reed looked to have extended Drybrook’s lead when he was put through a gap for a try but it was called back for a forward pass.
Undaunted Drybrook piled on the pressure and fellow prop Jun Sing Lee, who had just come on as a replacement, powered over for his team’s third try.
A few minutes later Sing Lee was yellow carded for not rolling away after a tackle but even with a man advantage Frampton could not break through.
Drybrook withstood everything Frampton threw at them and at the end of the game they were on the offensive again searching for a bonus point try.
Hooker Mitch Renton went closest but he spilled the ball with the line at his mercy which was a pity as this would have put the icing on the cake of a splendid performance from Drybrook.
Frampton remain top of the table but Drybrook have 2 games in hand and have the opportunity to move ahead of them.
On Saturday Drybrook travel to Teignmouth for the South West Area Final of the RFU Senior Vase.
