Mini Junior Round-up 12/02/2018

UNDER 12s
The under 12’s got back to winning ways with a 40-20 win against local rivals Berry Hill. It was a physical game played in true Forest rugby style and the young squirrels played as a good team unit with all players from 1 to 12 putting in a good shift. Try scorers were Ryan Edwards (3), Kyran Meek (2), Kyle Quinn, Tom Wynn and Max Lancett. Looking forward to the Land Rover cup next week.

UNDER 8s
Drybrook u8’s took on local rivals Berry Hill today in the comfort of the Dene Magna sports hall. Right from the off the passing and attacking play was superb. Maddison and Ollie had a productive day in the scoring department today but the majority of the team also found their ways on to the score sheet. Berry Hill did eventually break through for a couple of tries which is testament to their spirit but Drybrook’s score of the day was still to come as they passed the whole width of the pitch with everybody touching the ball before reversing the play to score a tremendous try in the opposite corner. Matt, Shane and myself were extremely proud of the way our amazing group played today throughout the duration of the game; They organised theirselves and really played as a team. It was a joy to watch !! Special mention to Arthur and Harley who very sportingly donned the black and gold of Berry Hill today to help them with numbers. And finally congratulations to Oliver who won player of the week today after yet another assured and mature performance!
UNDER 7s
Drybrook U7s hosted Berry Hill today and due to the weather we played in the sports hall at Dene Magna. With players from both sides not having to deal with the cold weather the handling was excellent from these young players, we saw some really silky running with some great offloading before the tackle. Not only in attack were both sides doing really well but also defensively there were tags a plenty for all.
It was a great performance from each and every player today and the player of the day went to Ashton who did everything the coaches had asked for.
