Under 7s & Under 8s @ Longlevens – 7th January 2018

Under 7’s

On a cold and frosty morning some of our U7s travelled to Longlevens for their first game of the new year.
But with the artic conditions and the Christmas turkey still taking its toll both sides struggled with getting tags and tries were being scored quickly by both sides.
With some wonderful passing and running these little players were getting warm and they soon forgot about the cold.
In the end both sides were quite happy to get back into the club for some nice warm food after a few great games.

Under 8’s

After a good Christmas and New Year’s break the U8 were straight back into their stride with a great match against Longlevens.
A very good turn out of 9 ensured that DRFC were able to walk tall and demonstrate their depth of talent.
They had all clearly missed their rugby and were very keen to give their legs a good stretch and undeterred by the cool temperature ensured the game was pretty even. Both sides scored some good tries, but is was the DRFC teamwork, backing up, looking for space and good calling that helped so many of the team score.
A great team effort today from Georgia, Maddison, Sam, Oli, Oliver, Harvey, Lewis and Fin and particular mention should go to Arthur who was awarded the DRFC player of the game award.
A thoroughly deserves award and one which all can strive for in future weeks. (Coach Matt promises not to forget the trophy again
