Drybrook secure bonus point in another home win.

Drybrook Ladies 57pts
Teddington Ladies 17pts

With a tough selection leading to three players not being selected in the 22 squad and after a defeat last time Drybrook welcomed Teddington to The Manning’s, the ladies felt the pressure to keep up with this season undefeated at home status.
Drybrook took the kick off playing away from the clubhouse. Drybrook lead in attack from the off with great hits and carries from the forwards. Drybrook were dominating in the scrums and after ten minutes Micha Harris picked the ball up from her NO.8 position and with a pass to Sarah Bevan ensured Drybrook’s Scrum Half was the first player to cross the try line. Conversion missed 5-0
It wasn’t long until Teddington hit back as their Scrum half weaved through Drybrook’s poor defence as they opposition scored their first try. Conversion missed 5-5.
Drybrook worked hard to punch holes into Teddington defence, resulting in a number of penalties awarded to them. Their hard work paid off as Chanise Beard crossed the line, under the post to secure another try for Drybrook. Micha Harris made the conversion 12-5.

It was now Drybrook’s time to defend and it was clear the defence drills from Wednesday training had helped, as Drybrook protected their try line carry after carry. Unfortunately in the 39th minute Carly Whent was given a yellow card for an accidental high tackle. Teddington were unable to cross the try line as the whistle was blown for half time!

With the replacements made, Teddington kicked off the second half. In the 42nd minute Ellie Underwood secured her first try of game. Ellie made the conversion 19-5.
Teddington hit back with their fly half making her way across the try line. Conversion made 19-12.
Drybrook were not happy with the close score, Julie-Ann Norbury picked up a loose ball and with a 15m carry unable to be tackled by Teddington’s defence popped the ball to Captain Stevie Liddiatt. Great support work from the forwards secured the ball leading to Kirsty Gwilliam to cross the try line after stepping a number of the opposing players. Underwood made the conversion 26-12
Drybrook kept possession, doing what they do best, with great carries from the forwards and then passed out to the backs to run their moves secured Ellie Underwood 4 more tries.

Underwood made 3 out of 4 conversions 50-12.
Once again Teddington Scrum half took advantage of a gap in Drybrook’s defence and crossed the line. Conversion missed 50-17.
Drybrook did not want to end the game without one more score and in the last minutes of the game Ellie Underwood crossed the line once more securing her a hefty 6 tries since half time. Underwood made the conversion 57-17.
Man of the match went to Micha Harris for making tackle after tackle in defense.

Special mentions go to Jess Hunt and Emma Gibson for travelling from Liverpool to make the game and to our retired Squirrel Marie Grindle celebrating her 40th Birthday.
