Mini Junior Round-up

Under 7s (1/10/2017)
Drybrook u7s travelled to Cinderford today where they played their first matches of the season against both Bream and Cinderford. With Drybrook being able to field 3 teams against Bream’s 2 sides and a side from Cinderford, all of the players were able to play with different players in their team and did really well both in attack and defence with some great passing and tagging throughout all of the matches, well done to all involved today

Under 8s (1/10/2017)
What a great day Sunday was. Drybrook U8s had their first competitive matches and they did themselves, their parents and the club proud. Determination, passion, laughter, commitment all made for some excellent play from all. Their desire to play as a team and involve everyone was wonderful to witness as was putting all their training into practice. They ran hard, looked for space, ran into space, passed backwards and side-stepped like the very best. A great start for a team of very promising children who should all walk proud, hold their heads up high in the knowledge that they are part of Drybrook Rugby Club.

Under 9s (1/10/2017)
Drybrook under9’s kicked off there season in there new kit at Cinderford on Sunday.
Fantastic play by both teams made sure it was an entertaining game full of energy and vigour.
This was both sides first game involving tackling but nobody needed to worry as every player acquitted themselves admirably.

Under 12s (1/10/2017)
A rare defeat for the under 12’s today to a very talented Stroud team. We played 3 games losing 7 tries to nil, 4 tries to 1 and 4 tries to nil. It would have been easy for the boys heads to drop but credit to them they kept battling on. Ollie Brain was our only try scorer and was also man of the match for some fantastic tackling and work around the breakdown. Special mentions were also given to Connor Fennell and Finley Rawlings. We also welcome Alfie Baldwin who played his first game for the squirrels.

Drybrook RFC Under 15s

Under 15s (24/9/2017)
The Under 15’s travelled to Minchinhampton for their first County Cup match of the season.
Things looked positive to start with, a couple tries exchanged by each side.
However a disorganised defence from Drybrook led to a series of tries from the opposition. Drybrook picked themselves up in the second half and began a renewed attack against the Cotswold unit. Unforunately with continuous
gaps in the defence it was easy for Minchinhampton to rack up a number of tries. The score did not reflect the game as a whole and with improvements to their defence, the Under 15’s will see many victories.
