Forest of Dean Combination Junior Cup Final – 6th May 2017

Cinderford Stags 20pts
Drybrook United 10pts

Cinderford controlled this game in terms of possession and territory for long periods to emerge victorious.
Andy Milner put Drybrook into an early lead with a penalty but despite having the wind and slope in their favour his team could not press home the advantage.
15 minutes in Milner missed with a drop goal attempt and then the Stags had a period of domination that resulted in a converted try.
Nathan Tucker made a good break for Drybrook but the opportunity was wasted when the pass went astray and all Drybrook had to show after this was a long range penalty that drifted wide.

Half Time:
Cinderford Stags 7pts
Drybrook United 3pts

The Stags took a grip on the game early in the second half and went further ahead through a Danny Trigg penalty.
Drybrook kept giving away penalties and Trigg nudged Cinderford further ahead.
20 minutes in a big flare up resulted in Marcus Cowles receiving a yellow card alongside Cinderford’s Chris Morse.
More Cinderford pressing and some good offloading brought a try for Dane Bradley and Trigg’s conversion put them even further clear.
Drybrook finally rallied after this but another scuffle led to Milner being yellow carded along

with Cinderford’s Ryan Kibble.
A late try from Dean Jelf brought some hope for Drybrook and Tom Treherne’s conversion brought the gap back to 10 points.
Drybrook remained deep in Cinderford territory at the end but could not add to their score.
