Drybrook ladies went down to Plymouth to play top of the league in championship Southwest 2.
After a three and a half hour journey Drybrook ladies turned up at Brickfields stadium Plymouth.
Drybrook knew this would be a tough fixture and that they would have to dig deep.
The game kicked off and Drybrook defended well as Plymouth attacked from left to right.
4 minutes into the game two missed tackles lead to a converted Plymouth try.
Drybrook had to restart and worked hard pinning Plymouth into their own half then a turned over came from Plymouth’s open side flanker and further missed tackles lead to Plymouth scoring their second converted try in under 10 minutes giving them the lead 14 – 0.
Despite Drybrooks every attempt to deny Plymouth of ball, they would turn over and counter attack.
Then 15 minutes in Plymouth dealt a further blow to Drybrook, scoring what was this time and unconverted try to give Plymouth a further lead of 19 – 0.
Drybrooks determination and sheer will power showed as they did not give up and on the 25 th minute Drybrooks Lucie Smith crashed over the line to do the un thinkable and score against top of the league. Ellie Underwood added the extras.

Now Drybrook were showing belief and the game was not over by a long way.
A penalty was awarded against Drybrook for an off side which Plymouth converted.
Drybrook in full control saw a great platform created for the back line to run off and that they did very well indeed, quick ball movement found skipper Ellie Underwood who danced through 3 defenders to score under the posts which she then converted.
With the score at 22 – 14 to the home side both teams had everything to play for.
With 12 minutes till half time Plymouth kicked to the far corner and a well executed driving maul saw Plymouth score yet again increasing their lead to 27 – 14.
Just before half time and and a great run from Hannah Meek with a late offload to Lucie score her second of the game. Ellie converting meant Drybrook went into the break trailing by only 6 points at 27 – 21.

The second half kicked off unfortunately very similar to the first with a couple Drybrook missed tackles leading to another Plymouth score only 3 minutes into the half.
Drybrook battened down the hatches this time until finally Emma Hughes had a quick break for Drybrook to score Drybrooks fourth try making the score 32 – 26.
With just ten minutes left to play a very controversial decision from the referee with no help from the locals touch judge saw Plymouth

progress yet again with a try in the far corner.
A further converted try from Ellie Underwood was not enough to weather the storm as Plymouth managed to score a further two tries to end the game 49 – 33, denying Drybrook of losing bonus point, however Drybrook did pick up a five try bonus point from their visit to Plymouth.
