Drybrook U18s Girls

After their home cup game v Somerton was cancelled at the last minute, Drybrook U18s managed to arrange an away fixture with Weston Hornets.
A fine performance of running rugby by both backs and forwards secured a great victory against a strong hornets team.
Within the first few minutes Drybrooks Katie Jeffery intercepted a pass and ran half the pitch to put Drybrook on the score board, Robyn Marsh slotted the conversion through the uprights to give Drybrook a 7-0 lead.
Hornets replied with a try, but Georgia Wintle broke away down the wing to make it 12-5.
Again Hornets fought back with a converted try to make it even at 12-12.
Drybrook girls settled their nerves and upped their game, and Leah Teague showed her pace and power to run in 2 consecutive tries, with Shauna Bennett converting the second try.
Shauna then charged her way through the hornets defence to score a great try herself and finish off the point scoring for Drybrook.
Hornets fought back with 1 last try but Drybrook u18s secured a well deserved 29-17 victory.
An outstanding team performance by the whole squad, excellent forward work notably by Robyn marsh, Wendy Kear, and the Skidmore Sisters, and great tackling by Lucy Moore and Captain Kirsty Gwilliam to name but a few.

Drybrook U15s Girls

Drybrook u15s made the long journey to Crediton RFC to play in an RFU cup fixture.
Drybrook girls battled hard in a very closely fought game, but Crediton were just too strong in the end and Drybrook girls were so unlucky to suffer an away defeat. Drybrooks team spirit and never give up attitude, and their great performance was was a credit to the girls and it was a brilliant but nail biting game to watch. The final result ended Crediton 36- Drybrook 20.
Jasmine Parham scored 1 try and Amber Stamp-Dunstan scored a hat trick for Drybrook.
Girls of the game went to Pixi-Rose Blakely and Tara Hitchens.
