Bletchley Ladies (away) National Junior Cup Semi-final

Drybrook set off for yet again another early start to travel up to Milton Keynes to take on Bletchley in the Semi Final of the National Junior Cup.
With the sun shining across the pitch the conditions was perfect for this clash of talent.
Bletchley kicked off towards the club house with both teams giving everything they had the first score didn’t come till the 23rd minute when Bletchley crossed the line in the corner to give the home side a 5 point lead.
With just two minutes till half time and after several attempts to cross the Bletchley line finally the score came for Drybrook when Roxanne Carter dived over a ruck to ground the ball ten meters to the right hand side of the sticks taking Drybrook into the break level pegging at 5-5.
The second half kicked off with more of the same both team fighting to get ahead.
On the 41st minute it was Drybrooks chance to take the lead from a strong run around the outside by Ellie Underwood to ground the ball under the posts and add the extras to make the score 5 – 12.
On the 60th minute Bletchley was awarded a line out five meters out from Drybrooks line.
Drybrook called a move they have been practicing all season where they don’t contest the lineout, forcing an offside. However the referee allowed the play to carry on and awarded a try to Bletchley much to Drybrooks confusion.
With the score at just 10-12 to Drybrook the pressure was now on more than ever.
Then with just three minutes left to play Bletchley was awarded a penalty in front of the posts from an offence spotted by one of the lines women for diving over the break down.
The kick was missed and went dead.
Drybrook took a quick drop out and chase tackle into touch by Ellie Underwood gave Drybrook a lineout just inside their own half.
With 90 seconds on the clock Drybrook won the lineout and the ball found the hands of Ellie Underwood.
All of Drybrooks supporters shouting ‘kick to touch’ Ellie decided to have one last run which paid off with her scoring under the posts to make the lead 10-19 at the final whistle.
The whole team was relentless in both defence and attack to make Drybrook proud once again. Drybrook are traveling down to Cullompton on Sunday to play the final game of the league. If they win or draw they will be South West One League champions. Come On Drybrook.
