Ladies-v-north-petherton2016

Drybrook ladies were host to North Petherton in a south west one league clash. Unfortunately the away side arrived late only allowing ten minutes for a warm up.
Superstitiously Drybrook ladies would play away from the club house, however after losing the toss Drybrook were forced into playing towards the clubhouse against the wind.
Just thirteen minutes in some great hands from a very determined Drybrook back line lead to Hannah Meek crossing the white wash to score the first try of the match.
Ellie Underwood added the extras giving Drybrook a 7 – 0 lead.
From the restart Ellie Underwood caught the ball and started to weave in and out of the Petherton defence then scored under the posts converting to increase the lead to 14 – 0.
Just three minutes later Ellie scored once again from great hands this time slightly out of range for the kick increasing the lead to 19 – 0.
Drybrook now looked very strong indeed however despite numerous attacks no further score was made until the 30th minute when Julie Ann Norbury crashed over the line.

Half time:
Drybrook Ladies 24pts
North Petherton Ladies 0pts

The second half kicked off with Drybrook now having the wind behind them and Petherton looking beaten.
However they had nothing to lose and they started to dish out some big hits driving Drybrook backwards.
But on the forty second minute Drybrook were attacking the Petherton line and looking very dangerous and the after multiple attacks at the line Roxanne Carter drove over and touched down to increase the score to 29 – 0.
Drybrooks backs were really up for the game as they persisted to run well practised drills which was taking Pethertons defence apart.
Ellie Underwood scored yet again with a well worked try bringing her try count to 3 trys and claiming her hat trick also converting making the score 36 – 0.
Fifty four minutes in winger Emma Gibson scored her first try of the match to increase the lead further to 41 – 0.
Finally with only five minutes left on the clock Ellie Underwood scored again from a lovely interception and scored under the posts converting to add the extras and end the game at 48 – 0.
