Drybrook under-16s vs Ledbury

Drybrook U16s fought a powerful Ledbury side every step of the way before going down 27-19 in a passionate and well-matched fixture that in previous seasons has seen comfortable victories for Ledbury.

Drybrook outleapt Ledbury in the lineout, matched them in the scrum and showed great tenacity in defending their own line in the minutes before half-time, to ensure parity at the break.

Jack Wear consistently made ground in the centre and Ollie Moore made a couple of electrifying interventions, chipping ahead and regathering only to be foiled by last ditch tap-tackles.

Ollie Henson, Will Cook and Bradley Morgan scored Drybrook’s tries (Ollie Cook, two conversions).

Ledbury’s fifth and final try against a tiring Drybrook defence gave an unfair representation to the scoreline of a highly competitive fixture.

This was a further example of the U16s improvement; they have played great rugby in the early part of the season and can look forward with optimism.
