Drybrook Under 15’s vs Old Richians – Sunday 11 October 2015

A third match of the season for Drybrook Under 15’s saw them bounce back from a defeat last week to beat Old Richians by 27 points to 11. The forwards contested well throughout and scrums and lineouts gave Drybrooks backs plenty clean ball.

The first half was generally a tight affair with opposing forwards nullifying the midfield. A brief foray by Drybrook into the Old Richians 22 metre area resulted in Ben Jones taking advantage to score a try by breaking through the middle of a maul. Rohan Parry converted.

Old Richians came back with a couple of well taken penalties, before their centre caught the ball from a restart and raced through a poor Drybrook defence to score mid way between the

posts and right hand corner flag.

Towards the later end of the first half, Old Richians discipline lapsed and the referee sent a dissenting player from the field. Drybrook took advantage and just before half-time Ben Jones scored a second try breaking from the back of a five metre scrum. Score at half-time 12 points to 11 in Drybrooks favour.

Having five on the bench, Drybrook made some changes at half time but this did not seem to disrupt them as their forwards exerted a lot of pressure on Old Richians. Drybrook scored a further three tries through Rohan Parry, Tom Pollack and Caleb Lloyd – none were converted. The final score was Drybrook 27 points Old Richians 11.
