Drybrook Under 14s vs Pulborough Under 14s – 11th April 2015

Drybrook u14s 29 pts
Pulborough u14s 29 pts

On Saturday 11th April, Pulborough RFC from West Sussex visited Drybrook as part of their end of season tour. To summarise the match finished in a draw with Dybrooks ‘men of the match’ being Harry Jones and Jack Worgan selected by the coach.
It was the Pulborough Under 14s who started the brightest and with the ‘young squirrels’ in hibernation mode they ran up a 22 points to nil lead by half time, scoring four tries and on conversion.
A stern talking to by the coach at half time and with the previous weeks complex carbohydrate,

protein and Easter chocolate diet kicking in, the Drybrook Under 14s began the comeback trail. Within five minutes Brad Morgan had scored an unconverted try after some good forward pressure. Soon after, Rohan Parry scored and converted his own try – belief!
Captain for the day Caleb Lloyd was next to score – confidence! Rohan Parry scored again – getting the hang of this now! Then Caleb Lloyd again, running through and breaking tackles over half the length of the pitch scored his second try – exuberance! The conversion was made by Morgan and Drybrook took the lead by 29 points to 22.
Pulborough gathered themselves for a final burst and to salvage the game. Some strong

forward play brought them mid way into the Drybrook half. Recycled ball was moved to the Pulborough backs and their centre broke a number of Drybrook tackles to score under the posts, the conversion was made and final whistle blown by the referee – a draw.
