Drybrook’s forwards laid the foundation for this bonus point victory with an excellent display that eventually wore Painswick down.
Painswick started well and opened their account when they capitalized on some early complacency from Drybrook to kick a penalty through centre Bressington.
Two minutes later Bressington added a monster penalty from half way to increase the visitor’s lead.
Stung into action Drybrook soon replied when scrum half Carl Moore stole down the blind side of a 5 metre maul for a good individual try.
Fullback Mitch Baldwin added the conversion and was soon called on again to add the extras to Drybrook’s second try. This time relentless pressure was rewarded when second row Marcus Cowles drove over from close range.
Drybrook kept up the tempo and eventually a third try resulted when flanker Liam Jackson was at hand to finish off another powerful forward surge.
With half time approaching centre Luke Fisher was brought down just short of the line but skipper Simon Rugman was in support to grab the bonus point try.
Half Time Drybrook 26pts Painswick 6pts
Drybrook continued their good form after the break and prop Nick Ovens was prominent with a number of powerful runs that kept the visitors on the back foot.
With 15 minutes gone Painswick eventually conceded another try when quick hands put Fisher through for a try under the posts.
Baldwin’s conversions bounced the wrong side of the upright and it seemed as if Drybrook would run up a big score but Painswick had other ideas and denied the home side time and again.
Drybrook did manage one other score when substitute Andy Bulumakau, back for his first game since breaking his leg, was put through the gap for a simple try that Baldwin was able to convert.
There were a number of player who did well fro Drybrook but it was fullback Mitch Baldwin who was awarded the Protech Windows man of the match award.
