Old Richians Rhinos 12pts Drybrook Veterans 21pts

Drybrook Vets finally got their season started with this victory in Gloucester. Richians were able to select from a much younger gene pool but Drybrook just had enough to claim the spoils.
Back row man Kerry Bourne had to leave the field after only 3 minutes through injury but this did not deter Drybrook who swept into the lead with a try from centre John Jeffs.
Chris Treherne converted and was soon called on again to add the extras to a try from the impressive Clive Boughton under the home posts.
A missed tackle from Chris Tingle led to Richians grabbing a try near the end of the half to leave the game evenly poised.
Both teams made several changes in the second half and Richians got back into it with another score. This seemed to wake Drybrook up and for the last quarter they were in control.
Eventually a try came from flanker Sean Bourne, again under the sticks, and Treherne converted to make the game safe.
Man of the match for Drybrook was Clve “Smiler” Boughton but he was run close by winger Jason “Quango” Roberts who was also outstanding.
