Drybrook were without a lot of regulars for this trial match with Trimsaran but they still did enough to emerge victorious.
It was a typical first outing of the season with plenty of mistakes from both teams but the Drybrook backs looked particularly sharp in the first period. In particular new signings Jack Wakefield and Niall Gibbons slotted in well with Alun Richards returning from a long term injury also prominent.
Sam Peaper scored Drybrook’s first try which

Richards converted and then Mitch Bourne grabbed a try as a result of driving line out.
Will Greenway was next on the score sheet when he latched on to a good off load following a break from prop Craig Boughton.
Bourne wrapped up the scoring with his second try, again from a line out drive.

There will be stiffer challenges ahead but Drybrook were reasonably happy with this first showing.

Skipper Ben Large was all smiles again as he picked up his second bit of silverware. This time it was the DBS Building Services Wales trophy for the match which was last contested in 2012.
