Drybrook under-14s v Tewkesbury

Drybrook under-14s avenged a defeat earlier in the season 10-5 when they welcomed Tewkesbury to the Mannings for an evening game under floodlights. In an enthralling and atmospheric encounter, Tewkesbury took an early 5-0 lead with a breakaway try. Drybrook levelled the scores with a try from Alfie Bayliss mid-way through the first half. In a torrid second half, Tewkesbury had the try-line at their mercy on at least three occasions and a score seemed inevitable. Fierce defence from Drybrook kept them out, with the forwards showing terrific determination. In the dying seconds Drybrook broke out to score, with Jordan Dainty going over at the end of a flowing passing movement. Bailey Watts gathered the kick-off, kicked the ball out and the most absorbing game of the season had been won. Ollie Cook and Jay Fellows were Drybrook players of the match.

Drybrook under-14s v Loughborough

Drybrook were 26-17 winners with try scorers including Jordan Dainty, BJ, Ollie Cook and Will Cook. The Loughborough supporters were certainly enjoying their tour and one of the highlights of the game was a “short line out” in which all forwards got down on their knees to compete for the throw in! Loughborough scored a try in the last seconds of the game to round off their tour on a positive note. In the spirit of friendship, mementoes were exchanged after the game by the two team captains. Loughborough had also played a Forest of Dean District side the previous day, which included Drybrook players Bailey Watts, Jay Fellows, Ollie Cook and Brad Priest, the Forest winning 46-12.
